Kason was a painter and print designer who included flowers and (or) birds in more than twenty of his woodblock print designs. Twenty-three examples are included in this gallery. Click on a picture to enlarge it. Kason drew his picture subjects in a true-to-life way which was the drawing style adopted by most Japanese artists active in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Kason is also known for being the teacher of the prolific flower-bird print designer Koson Ohara.
